Zagreb, short but sweet!

Once we arrived in Zagreb, Croatia we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness, beauty, and kindness of the city. Our hostel was very easy to find and right in the center of awesome restaurants, shopping, bars, cafes, cathedrals, museums, it was perfect! Unfortunately both of us were feeling not so great after our lack of sleep the previous night, too much coffee and drinks, lack of real food, we weren't awake for much of the night life. The next day we found the tram to the train station where we needed to purchase tickets to Budapest. However, we were quickly informed the border to Budapest had been closed for 4 months and no trains would be available. Only a minor setback, we needed to be in Budapest by the 16th for a flight we had already booked. Searching for other options we found a service similar to Uber but used for longer distance drives called BlaBla Car. We booked a ride for the next morning and proceeded to see a little more of Zagreb! I love all of the old brick buildings and clean parks, beautiful architecture, it's my new favorite city! We stumbled into a bar Michael fell in love with, Tolkien's House. It was everything you could hope for! We also found out that the locals in Zagreb tend to only eat one major meal a day, lunch. We however had a small breakfast and then didn't eat again until about 6:30 pm puzzled why literally no one else in the restaurant was eating... Then we googled the answer. Well, we quickly finished out habanero fries and chicken, pancetta, mushroom pasta and headed back to the hostel! Next stop Budapest!
